Religion

I'm Jewish. Many people would say I'm not very good at it, since I'm not very observant. But God has blessed me so much in my marriage with the wonderful Teresa, which is a violation of Halacha (Jewish religious law). I hope He sees things differently. Most of what I write is about the Tanakh, the portion of the Bible that Protestants call the Old Testament and Catholics call "the Old Testament, except for the Deutro-Cannonical works that are missing for some reason". This means it could be useful for Christians as well as Jews.

Book cover

This book tells the stories of the first five major characters in the Book of Judges: Ehud, Deborah, Gideon, Abimelech, and Jephtheh. It is written as a book of stories for children in middle school or older, with comments to explain the cultural background.

Psalm of Foo Foo: This is the story of a certain wayward bunny, and how he got punished for the sin of causing needless suffering. Lest anybody accuse me of blasphemy, I'd like to point out that this literary style was not uniquely Israelite, and certainly not uniquely dedicated to the worship of God.

Jewish Materials

There is nothing secretive about the material here, it's just material that is less likely to be of interest to Christians. Either it is tied to the Jewish liturgy, it discusses things that happened after the Judeo-Christian split, or it's about how to raise kids to be Jewish.

Preschool Parashah Cover

This book includes 54 stories or little plays, one of each of the weekly Torah portion (Parashah). I wrote it to let grownups provide preschoolers with at least a taste each portion.
